Laura Taylor, President

Most people can identify with my background, I have had almost every job out there. I became a banker in 1979 because I liked the hours, 9 to 5, Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays off. It was a great job when I was a single Mom and needed to be with my kids, but that was all it was, a job. I was hired as an executive secretary to the President of a Savings and Loan that gave me an opportunity to sit across the desk from people and listen to the stories that went along with the need to borrow money. Back then I did not know how to help people, I just knew I wanted to help. What made me want to help was the fact that I was without a home and I needed to borrow money, too. I listened and realized that the people that had money, did not need my help. It was people that were trying hard, just like me, working for a living and needed every dime just to pay rent. I knew I could never save enough money for a down payment. But I did know there had to be a way.

Then I was approached about taking a job in the Mortgage industry. The loan officer that hired me, told me that I would never go back, and he was right. Isaw that Mortgage Banking was so much different, there were ways to really help people to become home owners. Government lending created a way for people like me to have my own house.

You know the rest of the story, Taylor Mortgage closed more RD 100% loans for new homeowners than ANY OTHER LENDER IN THE STATE OF ALABAMA FOR 2005.

You know what, that loan officer that hired me was right. We help people. I Love My Job!
